Territorial Economic Zones as a New Mechanism Managing Spatial Development of Saint-Petersburg

Abstract

The article describes the main problems and imbalances in the spatial development of St. Petersburg and its metropolitan area, the necessity of transition to a new model of polycentric development. Describes a new approach to spatial development of the city, it is the partition plan of St. Petersburg on territorial economic zones to ensure a balanced development of territories and eliminate imbalances.
