Criteria and status of the small innovative business in Russia

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the issues of development of small innovative business (SIB) in Russia. Pointing out the important role of SIB in the development of modern world economy the author finds it to be of small noticeability in Russia. Increase of the role and the number of small innovative enterprises is connected, in the author's opinion, with the correct definition of the criteria and status of small innovative business. Author considers a number of approaches to the definition of qualitative and quantitative criteria, and also to the status of small innovative business and points out the most rational of them. It allows him to define small business and consequently SIB as the economical phenomenon in the frame of the global business sector and also to provide small business enterprises with full state support.
