Middle Eastern Vector of Foreign Policy of Great Britain at the Beginning of the XXI century

Abstract

Article is devoted to the basic features of British foreign policy in the Middle East in the first decade of the XXI century. It should be noted, that Britain’s Middle East foreign policy has historical roots. The author considers the reasons of consolidation «special relations» with the US. This article aims to provide insights into the key trends and transformations in the current London’s policy in the Middle East. The author asserts that participation in the military conflict in Iraq had fatal consequences for the international reputation of Great Britain. The author declares that the Britain’s Middle East policy is focused on close political coordination with the United States.
