International organizations in Russian Foreign Policy: The Late Coming Great Power Experience

Abstract

The article contains a comparative analysis of five great powers experience in making and activities of both global and regional international organizations. Along with USA and China Russia is represented as a late coming great power which makes up the lost opportunities in international organizations. The author claims there are internationalist and the individualist great power approaches to the international organizations; in XXI century Russia makes a gradual transit from the latter to the former one.
