Multiculturalism as the State Policy on Federal Level (Canadian Experience)

Abstract

Experience of Canada in realization of ideology and policy of multiculturalism is considered in the article in connection with the new edition of the Conception of state national policy. In the author's opinion, example of Canada shows that formation of joint civil identity is compatible with the support of cultural diversity. Reassessment and reorganization of the minority rights on the basis of democracy can strengthen the solidarity of national communities and provide stability at the expense of elimination of «breeding grounds» for growth of the extreme forms of nationalism and chauvinism.
