Competence as a Key Concept of the Actual Theory and Practice of Management

Abstract

The article examines the competence approach to management. The author defines the prerequisites for the introduction of the construct "competence" in scientific and practical discourse shows how different research areas fill its content. Competence is defined as the basic concept of modern management and is associated with other constructs of its theory and practice.
