On the Approaches to Power Elite Analysis

Abstract

The article gives a brief description of the possible approaches to the analysis of power elites. Elites are regarded either as functional groups, or certain social strata or as institutions of society. The specific focus of each approach and the limits of its applicability are analyzed.
