Abstract

The article deals with two major factors influencing ethnic stratification in multiethnic societies — power and ideology. The specific features of hierarchical structure of ethnic groups are analyzed. Сlose interdependence between ethnicity and social status as well as relativity of dominant/minority status in different social context are stated.
