Abstract

In the article the author illustrates methods and rational actions of executive power in fight against corruption at the beginning of the XX th century (on the example of board of the U. S. President W. Wilson), conceptually opens the complicated modern understanding of a phenomenon of corruption, relying on works of outstanding German sociologists M. Weber and G. Simmel, and the American economist T. Veblen.
