Prospects of Economic and Political Presence of Russia and China in Central Asia

Abstract

The article explores the intersection of interests between the Russian Federation and the Peoples Republic of China, as well as the perspectives of the economic policy implemented by each country in Central Asia. Basing on the SWOT analysis of the foreign policy of both the RF and the PRC it is concluded that the rivalry between the two countries increases with time. In conclusion, the author suggests the means to moderate said rivalry for the sake of both Russian interest in economic integration and Chinese interest in keeping the political situation in Central Asia stable.
