Abstract

The article describes the potential of space information technologies for use in the regions. Among them are the results of remote sensing in various ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum; registered radio from operating radio-electronic means; streams of radio signals transmitted by satellite communications systems; navigation signals from global navigation systems. Proposed in the framework of existing information and knowledge institutions (companies) of the subjects of the Russian Federation to establish a model unit responsible for the development of space-based information for socio-economic development of the region, the collection, processing and communicating this information to interested consumers. The main task of this unit.
