Abstract

A profound knowledge of the nature of innovations is the key of effective management of innovation processes. Innovations involve not only the creation of new, but also overcome the former, the “traditional” economic, political, cultural models of social organization, their gradual transformation. The article deals with the basic conceptual approaches to understanding of essence of the innovative phenomena and processes, features of economic, cultural and social approaches to understanding innovation are revealed. The authors noting the specificity of innovation in various spheres of life, define common grounds that characterize innovation as a socio-cultural phenomenon, the technology of the society development.
