Abstract
This article concerns the key lessons that should be learned from the national policy carried out by Juri Andropov in the beginning of the 80s of the 20th century. Above all the authors pick out the clear distribution of authority between the centre and the regions, inadmissibility of connivance of any manifestation of nationalism and chauvinism.
