Abstract

The article deals with the process of making the illustrations for the coronation album of empress Anna Ioannovna. Using archive materials, the author analyses the role of the Academy of Science in the formation of album and preparation of coronation prints. It is possible to say that without work of engravers, connected with the Academy of Science, the production of album was impossible. The experience of composition of the first coronation album was very important. The illustrations of the album reflected the main moments of the coronation ceremony of empress Anna Ioannovna and its composition became the example for future albums.
